The International School of Berne has a rich history dating back to 1961. It was established to serve the international community in Bern and has been a cornerstone for English-speaking education for over six decades. From humble beginnings in a rented house on Thunstrasse 97, ISBerne has transformed and expanded. We acquired land in Gümligen in 1965, where we built a new dedicated campus. In 2017, we moved to our current state-of-the-art campus at Allmendingenweg 9, 3073 Gümligen, just two tram stops away from our original location.

Our dedication to providing excellent international education led to our recognition as an International Baccalaureate World School. In 1995, we introduced the IB Diploma programme, and we've worked tirelessly to offer all three IB programs. ISBerne received authorization to provide the IB Primary Years Programme in January 2007 and the IB Middle Years Programme in April 2007.
